League of Defense Companies of Ukraine and Deputy Minister of Defense Determine Further Course of Cooperation to Ensure Government Orders

On July 30, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Myronyuk met with the Board of the League of Defense Companies of Ukraine, a specialized association of domestic defense manufacturers, which currently unites 68 private enterprises.

The League was represented at the meeting by board members CEO of Dolya & Co. Larysa Tatarintseva, Oleg Vysotsky, Stanislav Zavyalov, Sergey Zhurets, Viktor Ruban, and CEO Oleg Bryushkovsky.

At the beginning of the meeting, Oleksandr Myronyuk noted that the Ministry of Defense is currently reforming the management system in the field of military-technical policy on terms that should be favorable for both the customer and the executors of the state defense order.

These changes are needed to strengthen the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by technically equipping them with effective weapons using the economic capabilities of the government, the production, and the technological capabilities of defense manufactures. That is why Oleksandr Myronyuk noted that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine considers a strengthening of cooperation with the state defense orders' executors as extremely necessary.

The participants of the meeting discussed a number of strategic issues towards the relationship between private producers of state orders and the Defense Ministry, the main ordering customer. Particularly there were discussed a number of issues:
  • Whether production manufactures are evenly loaded
  • The features of long-term and transitional contracts.
  • Creating clear and understandable rules for planning the newest developments.
  • Ensuring transparency of pricing.
  • The features of customs clearance of components for the needs of the state defense orders.
  • Information on the future needs of the Armed Forces which should be available to the public.

Deputy Minister of Defense Oleksandr Myronyuk stressed the need for government support for Ukrainian private arms exporters. He outlined the areas in which the Ministry of Defense is able to provide all possible assistance in promoting Ukrainian defense products on the international market.

The results of the meeting outlined ways of further cooperation between the Defense Ministry and the League to ensure timely and high-quality implementation of the state defense order.
